When you have no one else to blame

This morning I was running late to my Pilates class, and so I order a VIA car share, enter in the address, run out of the car and down the block. I’m rushing towards this address…. and I finally get there to find that I’m at the wrong building. 

I text my instructor that I’m there and something isn’t adding up. I look up and realize I’m at the wrong address. The instructor gave me the right address, I entered the right address in my car share, yet something was pulling me to this other building. 

I rush to the right building and I was upset at myself – no one to blame but me. I’m on my lunch hour, so I’m already limited on time. And I’ve just wasted 15 minutes. So I was very tempted to cancel the appointment. But I didn’t for 2 reasons

1. I made a commitment to the instructor and didn’t want to not hold up my end of the bargain

2. I made a commitment to myself to take actions to feel good about myself and my body

Plus, what was I really gaining by canceling the appointent – it was like a 43 year old throwing a temper tantrum. Nothing good could come from it. So I went to the appointment and was so glad I did 

See a lot of times, we blame other people for mistakes we make. When we have no one to blame, we beat ourselves up pretty good. And to be honest, it does us no good. There’s no real value in doing that. Accept what it and move on. When we want things to be different than they are, we cause ourselves unnecessary strife. 

So, understand the past for what it is and know that it was manifested from previous thought patterns In every moment, you have the power to choose again. Master your mind and you will see the results in everything you do.

Spreading the Love: When vs If

How One Little Word can make all the difference in how you manifest and live your life!

 

As you know, or maybe you haven’t experienced this, but self talk and the way you talk to others is so very important. Think about 1 or 2 areas of your life that are going swimmingly well. Did you think of one? Ok, great…feel into that! Think about WHY it’s going so well. How do you FEEL about it? Meaning, if your relationship is going well, it’s most likely because you have a healthy relationship with yourself first. Maybe even, you respect yourself and your partner respects you. Now, since you have a strong foundation, you may even look at relationships as expansive and an opportunity to love yourself and your partner more.

Now, let’s move our attention to an area of your life that may not be going as well. Let’s use finances just as an example. Perhaps you were raised with a mentality that money doesn’t grow on trees, or things were expensive. So, your view of money is skewed and more on the lack end. Maybe you take action to earn money, but it doesn’t actually materialize. I’ll tell you why!

 

It’s the When vs If

 

What does that mean? When you use the work “IF” you’re injecting doubt. Maybe you don’t mean to do it consciously, but subconciously, your belief has a lack undertone. Let me give an example “If I make more money, I will give back to the animal rescues” That statement doesn’t feel empowering at all. It’s almost like I’m expecting to fail. The dominant energy there is well I would like it, but it’s probably not going to happen.

 

Let’s change it now and flip it to “WHEN”

When I make 50,000 I will donate it to the animal rescue, invest into property so that my retirement is set. When I donate to the animal rescues, they can help so many strays and those who were left without a home. My earnings will continue to serve those who cannot help themselves, and support my future. The more I earn, the more I earn and the better it gets. The value I give is in direct proportion to the income I earn.

 

Can you see, hear and feel the difference? The WHEN statement is so powerful and leads into more of the positive because it gives not only hope BUT certainty!

I had a phone call yesterday with a client who wants to release blocks. After our conversation it had me thinking about blocks people face: Money, Mindset, Health, Joy, Self Esteem, Confidence, Love, Relationships, etc…

And it raised awareness around what I can do to help serve people. Block removal can be personal but a general block removal is quick simple to partake in, and it’s funny to see the things my clients manifest once they’re open.

We often sabotage ourselves with memories of our previous experiences. Every memory we have drives our future. So, the key here to create a new baseline for your future decisions to be made from.

The way to do this is not to erase all your memories, but to reframe them. The way you think about them will change and then the decisions you make will take on a new positive life.

For instance, if you’ve always avoided a certain food because you believed eating it would make you “FAT!”, we reframe that to neutralize your thought about it, so you can take it or leave it without have a charge about the food when thinking about it.

A simple strategy to leave cigarettes behind for good

Answer this question:

Why do you want to quit smoking? If there’s any reason other than you want to, it won’t work. Until you are crystal clear in quitting, there’s no one that can force you. I’ve known indivuduals to quit for someone else and they just wind up sneaking cigarettes and smoking more secretly. 

So, after you answer, drill down a few levels, meaning

“I want to quit smoking because”:

  • I don’t want my teeth decaying
  • I want healthy lungs
  • Breathing is easier
  • I keep getting sick
  • I smell like an ashtray
  • Allowing a cigarette to have power over me is not in my best and highest good
  • It’s so expensive

I quit cold turkey simply because I did NOT want to be a smoker anymore. I used to tell people I didn’t smoke regularly, I just smoked first thing in the morning, before and after I ate, when I drank wine / beer and before I went to bed.
